Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process Policy

JITSPE uses a double-blind peer review process, in which both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

The review process follows these steps:

1. Initial Screening
The editorial team evaluates the manuscript for scope, originality, and formatting.

2. Reviewer Assignment
The manuscript is sent to two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

3. Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- originality
- methodological rigor
- relevance to the journal scope
- clarity of presentation
- contribution to the field

4. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will decide:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject

5. Revision and Final Decision
The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks.

  1. Overview

The peer review process at JITECS (Journal of Information Technology and Computer Science) is designed to ensure the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts. All submitted articles must undergo rigorous evaluation before acceptance and publication.

  2. Review Model

JITECS implements a blind review process, meaning the reviewers and authors do not know each other's identities throughout the review process. This model is intended to maintain objectivity and fairness.

  3. Reviewer Assignment

Each manuscript is reviewed by two (2) to three (3) qualified reviewers who have expertise relevant to the article's topic. Reviewers are selected based on academic background, research field alignment, and previous review performance.

  4. Review Timeline

The review process generally takes four (4) to eight (8) weeks, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript quality. Authors will be informed of the review progress through the editorial system.

  5. Manuscript Screening and Evaluation

Before being assigned to reviewers, manuscripts will undergo an internal screening process consisting of:

    1. Scope and Format Check

Ensuring the manuscript aligns with the journal's scope and follows submission guidelines.

    2. Similarity Check

JITECS applies plagiarism detection software. The maximum allowable similarity score is 20%, excluding references.

    3. Reference Requirements

Minimum reference counts depending on article type:

      • Systematic Literature Review (SLR): minimum 75 peer-reviewed journal references
      • Research Article: minimum 20 references

Manuscripts that do not meet these minimum requirements will be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected.

  6. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on (but not limited to) the following aspects:

    • Originality and contribution to knowledge
    • Relevance to the scope of Information Technology and Computer Science
    • Methodological soundness and clarity
    • Quality and accuracy of data analysis
    • Literature foundation and adequacy of citations
    • Clarity of writing, structure, and coherence
    • Ethical compliance
  7. Review Outcomes

After evaluation, reviewers will recommend one of the following decisions:
